Standard Delivery Areas
Our standard delivery service covers an area with around a 30-50 mile radius of our 12 AVS branches - see image for reference. As part of the Lawsons group, we are also able to ship from their branches where required. Please use the postcode checker below which will confirm if we can deliver to your address.
Please note that we may occasionally need to decline some orders where the products ordered and/or distance from one of our branches means that the delivery logistics are impractical. We will contact you and seek to provide alternative options where possible. If a refund is required, this will be actioned within one working day of the order being cancelled.
Our Delivery Times
We aim to delivery all web orders between 3 and 5 working days.
Items not held in stock will take longer to deliver but the delivering branch will advise likely dates. Delivery times can vary following storms and adverse weather conditions. Once your order is processed you will receive an automated email with the date of your delivery.
If you would like to request delivery on a chosen day or would like the driver to call ahead, please add the details to the 'comments' box just before you check out. If you are not going to be present when your order arrives, you must inform us in writing. Please note that once the goods are delivered, AVS Fencing Supplies cannot be held responsible for those products being lost, damaged or stolen after the delivery is complete. Our delivery charges are calculated on postcode delivery zones and the value of your order. Zones are based on the distance from the entered delivery postcode to the nearest AVS or Lawsons branch. Please see grid below for full details. Free shipping is available for orders over £500 and our Click & Collect service is always free.

Our Free Click & Collect Service
When using our Click & Collect service, we encourage you to use our website's stock checker feature on each product page to check stock at your local branch. If your chosen item(s) are in stock, you can head to the branch to collect one hour after placing your order (within standard opening hours, latest collection no later than 30 minutes before branch closes).
If your selected items show as 'Limited Stock', we encourage you to call the branch to review options. You may also still place your order and the branch will contact you by the end of the next working day to discuss. If you order an item that is 'Delivery Only' you will be unable to collect from that branch until they have ordered the item from our network. The branch will contact you to advise options or alternatives.
Delivery & Billing Addresses
If your delivery address is different to your billing address, we may request further proof of that delivery address. This is for security purposes and to help protect our customers from fraudulent transactions. If this is required, a member of our team will call you directly to discuss it after you complete your order.
Your Delivery Day
When you made your purchase you would have been asked if there were any access problems relating to the delivery address. We need to know these details because it can be an important factor in deciding the type of vehicle we will use to deliver your goods. The type of potential access issues we would need to know about are listed below but are not limited to:
- Road width restrictions
- Vehicle weight restrictions
- Parking and loading restrictions
- Red Routes
Is your property hard to find? Let us know of any landmarks that might help our drivers find you quicker.
We usually deliver your goods to the kerb side or a driveway entrance. Please be aware that the delivery vehicles are heavy lorries that can damage private driveways by cracking paving slabs or light weight drain covers etc.
In certain circumstances, it might be possible to drive onto your private property to get the goods closer – however this would only occur if the driver assesses that it is safe to do so and the landowner/tenant signs a disclaimer accepting responsibility for any potential damage that might occur.
We strive to carry out our deliveries Monday to Friday between 8am and 4pm and Saturdays 9am-11am, except on UK Bank Holidays and between Christmas and New Year. This can of course vary depending on things like traffic problems and other exceptional circumstances beyond the control of AVS Fencing Supplies and our delivery drivers. Where possible we will contact you prior to us arriving with a delivery time window.
We hope you'll be pleased with your purchase. If you should change your mind and wish to return anything purchased from us, we’ll be happy to refund or exchange the goods within 30 days of delivery or collection, provided the return is made in accordance with our terms below.
If you need to return an item, please contact your local branch or Contact Us with your order number and details about the product you would like to return. We will respond quickly with instructions for how to return items from your order.
- A valid purchase receipt must be provided
- Goods must be in pristine condition, unopened and in original packaging (we do not offer refunds on certain items, please see list below)
- We reserve the right to charge a restocking fee on all returned items:
- 10% on items returned by customer
- 20% on items collected by AVS
Refunds will be processed within 14 working days and all payments will be credited against the original card holder’s payment details where possible.
We do not offer refunds on the following product(s):
- Perishables and other items that may deteriorate with short shelf life
- Powders (Plaster and Cement etc.)
- Bulk Bags/Poly Bags of aggregates and sand
- Timber machined to your specification
- Cut to size items i.e. artificial grass
- Special Orders (Specials are products that are not stocked by our company and have been purchased specifically for your order)
Due to the nature of these goods unless they are faulty, we're unable to offer a refund or exchange.
Our returns policy does not affect and is in addition to your statutory rights.
