The MS 400 C-M is the world’s first chainsaw to feature a magnesium piston, setting a new standard for performance in the 60cc category. Designed for professional users, it delivers exceptional power, torque, and acceleration while maintaining a strong power-to-weight ratio, making it ideal for demanding forestry tasks.

With a 66.8 cc 2-MIX engine producing 4.0 kW of power and 4.1 Nm of torque, the MS 400 C-M offers a significant performance boost over the MS 362 C-M, while adding only minimal weight. The magnesium piston is 14% lighter than the aluminium version in the MS 362 C-M, contributing to quicker throttle response.

This intelligent design results in a power-to-weight ratio of 1.45 kg/kW, with a powerhead weight of just 5.8 kg. The saw is also equipped with M-Tronic 3.0 for easy recalibration and consistent engine performance, an improved HD2 filter, and STIHL’s Elastostart system for smooth starting. Built for felling, de-limbing, and processing timber, the MS 400 C-M is a versatile, high-performance tool for forestry and arborist professionals.
