Moisture can penetrate the surface of wooden fencing, causing the timber to rot and decay over time. Gravel boards are easy to replace and protect fencing, prevent water damage and make the fence look complete too. They're re especially important if you have a flower bed in front of the fence, or if your garden is in a particularly shaded or damp area, such as on the edge of woodland.
