Is Your Garden Ready to Party?

With lockdown restrictions beginning to ease and the evenings getting longer, it’s time to start thinking about getting your outdoor space ready for all of that long-awaited entertaining and al fresco outdoor living. Read on for some quick fixes to glam up your garden for outdoor entertaining, with everything available for either home delivery in our delivery area, or to click and collect from our AVS Fencing & Landscaping Supplies branches throughout the South East.

Paint your fence and shed

Painting your fence or shed is a quick way to spruce up your garden with maximum impact. Our range of outdoor wood paints and wood treatments comes in a range of colours and finishes, from natural browns to the more contemporary blues and greys.

Read our article here for inspiration and all you need to know about painting your shed.

Install some garden lighting

Outdoor lighting is a great way to add instant impact to your garden, especially for evening entertaining. Solar powered lighting won’t always have received enough sun from our variable weather to charge up, so why not consider some more permanent, high quality mains powered garden lighting?

Try one of our self-install starter kits to position spotlights around your entertaining area or install some deck lights into your decking area for a magical ambient light source.

Clean your patio

It might be tempting to reach for the pressure washer to blast the patio clean, but before you do, read our article here about the best ways to clean your patio. Pressure washing is the last resort if you want to keep your patio in tip top condition.

Use slate or gravel for a quick fix

Our range of slate chippings and decorative gravels provides a host of options to quickly cover an unsightly part of your garden. Simply lay some weed suppressant membrane over the area then rake over the slate or gravel for an instant, long lasting fix.

TOP TIP – if the gravelled area is over soil, cut through the membrane to add plants, then re-cover around the plants for a contemporary gravel or slate flower bed.

Get decorative with panels

You might not have time to erect a brand new fence (but if you do we can help), however we offer a range of decorative fencing panels that can instantly transform an area of your garden, whether as part of a boundary fence or as free standing panels within the garden.

Read our article here for examples of what to do with decorative fence panels.

Build an outdoor bar

Who hasn’t always dreamt of having their own bar in the garden? Well, the easing of lockdown is the perfect excuse to fulfil that dream as we’re likely to be entertaining outside a lot this summer. Our range of timber railway sleepers, or other pre-treated timber and sheet materials provide the perfect starting point for building your own garden bar.

Or really push the boat out and build your very own garden pub from our range of sheds and garden buildings!

If you need any advice, speak to our experts in your local branch of AVS – they can tell you exactly what materials to use, plus they may have the facility to pre-cut your timber to size for an even simpler build.

Keeping to social distancing means that your existing outdoor furniture may not provide enough room for outdoor dining. Browse our range of solid wood tables and garden chairs to give yourself plenty of socially-distant space.

Lay an instant lawn

We’d all like to have the perfect lawn but may not have the time or energy to maintain one. Why not consider laying some artificial grass as a quick fix, or temporarily lay grass on your deck or patio (or even apartment balcony) for a quirky garden party or outdoor dining area.

Our range of highly realistic artificial grass is cut to size and delivered to your door, with all of the necessary fixings available too.

We hope the above has given you some ideas to quickly transform your garden this summer. For any help or advice, speak to our landscaping experts at your local AVS branch.

From all of us at AVS Fencing & Landscaping Supplies, stay safe and have a great summer!
