With the weather beginning to turn ever so autumnal, now is the time to start enjoying the wonderful fruits and colours of the season. The Malvern Autumn Show, taking place from 27th-28th September, is the perfect place to welcome autumn back into our lives and gardens.
The show celebrates food, gardening and the countryside and features a number of exciting activities to get involved in. Whether you want to feast your eyes on the range of cookery demonstrations taking place, listen into the various gardening talks or take a peek at the vegetable displays and vintage tractors, there is plenty to see and do.
So what else can you expect from the Malvern Autumn Show?
The Vegetable Trug Competition taking place this year will challenge avid gardeners to fill a trug with a variety of different vegetables. Again in the spirit of competition, Malvern will host the UK National Giant Vegetable Championships.
The Harvest Pavilion is also set to be a show highlight, housing lots of different vegetables and plants grown by amateur enthusiasts.
Talks and Demonstrations
If you are interested in hearing educational and inspiring talks, the Plant Demonstration Theatre is the place to be. The RHS’s Tender Plant Committee will be on hand to deliver talks and demos during the event. There is also the chance to see cooking demonstrations in the Theatre hosted by Wot’s Cooking. As part of the Taste It area, demonstrations will feature baking, fish dishes and artisan cheese.
If it’s delicious food that you are after, Malvern’s food and drink areas will provide you with quality local and regional produce. Find anything from cheese, to delicatessen and pastries. The Orchard Pavilion will house the Perry Festival, an apple auction and helpful experts sharing their knowledge on fruit growing and cider.
As if all that wasn't enough, writer and TV presenter Monty Don will be attending Sunday’s show. The BBC Gardener’s World front-man will be joining Joe Swift and Mark Diacono at the show and will be chatting to Joe on stage at the Good Life Pavilion.
Will you be attending?
