MESH

Wire Mesh Fencing

Mesh fencing refers to a range of wire mesh fencing or mesh fencing which includes types of mesh such as chainlink mesh, weld mesh, wire netting, rabbit netting, stock fence or stock mesh, horse netting and deer fencing mesh. AVS wire mesh fencing has many things in common such as it is open so it gives the user no privacy and it lets light through which is great for plants as it doesn’t cut out the light from plants etc and it also lets the wind through the mesh which means that there is no wind resistance or wind loading on the wire mesh fencing. The fact that you can see through mesh fencing offers some advantages for security fencing or perimeter security applications particularly for patrolled or CCTV monitored areas as it does not offer a hiding place for the intruder.

Mesh Fencing

Most mesh fencing is erected on a number of strained wires sometimes known as strained line wires these strained line wires are fixed tight between straining posts and with mesh fencing it is normal practice for the mesh fencing to be run in straight lines over some distance because the straining posts are costly compared with the intermediate fencing stakes which support the mesh fencing and it therefore makes sense to set these some distance apart which cannot be done if the fencing needs to negotiate a radius.
The majority of mesh fencing is erected to a height suitable for the application for which the fence is being used for but in reality because the mesh fencing offers little wind resistance mesh fencing can be erected up to 20ft or 6m high when it is needed. In what instances would you erect your mesh fencing to this height you ask, well, very tall mesh fencing is required for ball stop fencing any application where you need to contain a ball used for sport such as football, rugby or golf then mesh fencing is suitable for ball stop fencing. Another application for tall mesh fencing is for creating security where objects may be thrown over a fence if one is creating a tall mesh fence then rather have an extremely wide rolls of mesh which are very expensive to manufacture and difficult to erect, one normally proceeds by putting more than one height of mesh above another typically at the lower levels one might use 1.8m or 2.4m high mesh and as one gets taller perhaps 1.2m high so that the mesh is lighter so with several rows of mesh fencing erected above one another having a tall mesh fence is easy.
Mesh fencing for keeping out rabbits can be created with our wire netting or rabbit netting and it is normal for the mesh fencing to be dug below the ground surface or to be laid folded onto the ground to prevent the rabbits digging under the rabbit mesh.
Stock fencing mesh another type of mesh fencing comes in several sorts but in general terms low level stock fencing is a mesh fencing suitable for sheep, cattle and pigs a tall mesh fencing with closely spaced uprights is available for horse fencing and the tallest version of stock fence style mesh fencing is available for deer fencing and this deer fencing is approximately 2m high. Because stock fencing, horse netting and deer netting are types of mesh fencing which are made from thicker mesh fencing wires they can be tensioned in their own right and don’t need to be fixed to line wires but mesh fencing consisting of chain link, weldmesh and wire netting is fixed to straining wires which are used to support the mesh.
When fixing your mesh fencing to straining wires then netting clips will be required to fix the mesh fencing to the straining wires and these are available either for use in an automated netting clip gun or manual application. Most mesh fencing is provided in a galvanised finish for corrosion protection, some ranges of mesh fencing are available in PVC coated finishes with RAL 6005 green being the most popular PVC coated mesh fencing finish.types such as chainlink mesh, weld mesh, wire netting, rabbit netting, stock fence or stock mesh, horse netting and deer fencing mesh.
