Straining post for paddock livestock fencing. Used at every end, corner and change of direction in the fence run. Strained wire fencing such as barbed wire fencing, stock fencing or dog fencing may be used with peeled and treated round straining posts. The fence must be erected in straight lines between straining posts, these are dug into the ground where the fence changes direction.
Straining posts are fitted with peeled and treated pointed posts as struts to support the fence straining post, preventing it from leaning over when the fence wire is tightened up.
To lend support to the fence mesh or fencing wire between the straining posts set out smaller peeled and treated fencing stakes at between 2.5 - 3.6m apart.
