Garden Fencing
Buy your garden fencing and garden fencing panels from AVS there is a wide selection of garden fencing available on the website, from the traditional fence panels sometimes called lap panels through to the elegant and sophisticated Grange Elite fence panel range. When choosing your garden fencing what should you consider? Most of us require our garden fencing to give us privacy and security. If we require security the height of the fencing is likely to be 1.8 or 2m high, 2m being the highest that one can achieve for your garden fencing without applying for planning permission and if you require privacy then you are likely to choose a solid fence such as a fence panel or close boarded fence as apposed to an open style of fencing like palisade or chain link mesh.
Garden Fence Panels
Often garden fencing is required to divide up areas of the garden and if this is the case low level garden fence panels may be used typically 900mm or 1200mm high. When planning a low level fence there is often less requirement for the fencing to be solid unless it is required to keep small animals out and so one tends to think of fencing styles like trellis garden fence panels or palisade fence panels. Our garden fencing products may be also used for landscaping as we supply a range of machine rounded pole and sleepers which are ideal when levelling areas of your garden or retaining soil prior to erecting your garden fencing. The front garden is also an area which fencing is often required for and quite often the fencing in the front garden will be much lower sometimes this is necessary for visibility adjoining a road or highway because in these situations the tallest fence without planning permission is normally a 1m high. Often garden fencing for front gardens consists of a low level garden fence panel and palisade fencing.
AVS sell a range of small timber gates to match your garden fencing whether this is 1800mm high for side entrance gates or 900mm for low level fencing in the front garden. What some people want to know is, is it possible to paint your garden fence panels and the answer is that garden fence panels may be painted although we urge caution because the timber stain and timber treatment may seep through the fencing so that it is visible in your neighbours garden and I am sure for good neighbourly relations you require your neighbours garden fencing to look as good on their side of the boundary, sometimes this can be overcome by agreeing to paint both sides of the garden fencing.
Do you know which way to erect your garden fencing this is normally shown on the deeds of your house or you may choose to follow the example of existing garden fencing panels which are already erected. What confuses a lot of people is that if you own the fence then it is normal to erect the fence so the fair face or front face of the fence where the palings or featheredge boards are, in the case of a closeboard fence are facing your neighbour. The rails at the back of the fence are facing your garden. With garden fence panels it is less pronounced which is the back and the front of the fence panel, however they do normally have a manufactures badge on the fencing and normally this would be erected facing the front.
