Horse netting is a specialist type of stock netting or stock fence designed for the needs of horses. Each type of horse fencing solution has strengths and weaknesses and it is difficult to recommend the best type of horse fencing as a lot will depend on personal experience and personal preference. Horse netting can represent a cost effective way to fencing large areas particularly when mechanical assistance is available for driving in fence posts. Horse netting is a little taller than some types of general purpose stock fence farm fencing but it is lower than deer fencing. Currently it is available as a 3ft 6inches and a 4ft height. Its vertical wires are spaced very closely together a distance of 80mm to prevent horses catching their hoofs in the mesh. It is manufactured from high tensile steel which means it won’t stretch as easily as mild steel versions but because of the high tensile nature of these wires and the overhaul height of horse netting, around 4ft tall, horse netting requires substantial timber straining posts with very good bracing.
