Stock fencing refers to a range of woven wire fences it is often referred to by the most common identification code of C8/80/15 this is a type of wire mesh product which is used for a variety of stock fencing applications ranging from sheep, pigs, cattle and horses, although AVS Fencing sell a type of stock fencing dedicated to horses which can be found under horse netting or horse fencing. Stock fencing is made from horizontal and vertical wires interwoven to form a strong and long lasting fence suitable for livestock, it is normally strained tight between straining posts with the horizontal wires of the stock netting being sufficiently large to strain individually. Stock netting is available in a range of heights from 800mm high to 2.1m high although the taller heights are normally referred to as deer fencing. As stated C8/80/15 is the most common type of stock fence this would normally be erected between large wooden straining posts complete with a 45% strut set at corners, ends and changes of direction with the stock fence being supported between these with fencing stakes set at between 3 and 3.6m apart. Stock fencing is normally in 50m rolls unless it is the high tensile version when rolls of 100m are common and by special order up to 300m. High tensile stock fencing is a superior product but does require a range of professional tools and box staining posts to achieve a tightly strained stock fence.
