Field Gates

Ironmongery consisting of hinges and latches for field gates are important because field gates are fairly heavy. Can you make a field gate rise with normal field gate hinges or do I need special ironmongery? Normal field gate ironmongery can be set up to make the gate rise when it is opened. The hinges for field gates are adjustable using a large spanner so that if your gate needs lifting this is an adjustment that can be made on the hinges. Latches for single field gates are different from those used for pairs of field gates, with the latches for pairs because these are normally required with a drop bolt to hold one gate in a fixed position they are sold as a complete double field gate fastener pack. If a second drop bolt is required these can be purchased separately.
