Both the palisade and the featheredge are attached by simply nailing them to the rails of the fence. A 50mm nail is usually suggested when nailing to arris rails, whereas a 40mm nail is suggested when nailing to a counter rail. One nail every fourth featheredge is suggested for counter rails.
The featheredge is usually nailed using one nail per rail in the featheredge approximately 15-20mm in from the edge.
The palisade is nailed using two nails per rail. Equally spaced across the pale in the centre of the rail line.
