So what is a raised bed?
A garden raised bed is assembled with timber to create an area which can be used to grow vegetable patches or flower arrangments.
Our raised beds that we stock can be assembled using timber gravel boards, railway sleepers, oak planks or half round edging rails.
Our range consists of raised beds that are in kit form and these are:
- Beginners vegetable beds
- Premier vegetable beds
- Raised vegetable beds
What are they used for?
Our raised garden vegetable beds are ideal for those of you looking to start growing your own vegetables, or for anyone who wants to create a simple garden where an attractive flower arrangement can be grown.
Benefits of using a Raised Bed to grow your vegetables?
There are many advantages of using a raised bed to grow your own vegetables. Here are only some of the many benefits;
- Firstly price- It is cheap to buy seed or starter plants. A packet of seeds often costs less than a head of lettuce itself.
- Environment- The reduction of travel to supermarkets to get fruit and veg as it has been grown at home. This may not look like a big change, however if we all do this it will have a major impact.
- Health- When you grow your own fruit and veg you are in control of pesticides. The fewer chemicals in our food, the better.
- No waste- You can compost the dead plants matter at the end of the growing season and then use the garden soil for the following year.
- Personal reward- It has been discovered that being connected to nature has its personal rewards as you are seeing the development form start to finish.
