Panels aren’t as good in particularly windy spots as they catch the wind and can be damaged.

Palisade on the other hand is ideal in a windy location as the gap between the pales allows the wind to go through. It’s a more open and traditional design so works well in rural gardens where you want to be able to see out and don’t have to worry so much about privacy.
