Did you know that the Landscape Institute Awards 2014 will be taking place on Thursday 27th November?
The prestigious awards ceremony will be happening this week at the Bloomsbury Big Top in London, celebrating all that is brilliant in the landscaping industry. The awards seek to recognise the talent and outstanding work of people within the landscaping profession.
What is the Landscape Institute?
The Landscape Institute is a professional body and educational charity who protect and enhance the natural and built environment for the public benefit.
Also known as the Royal Chartered Institute for landscape architects, the Landscape Institute promotes the landscaping industry through support of their members. They also work with government to improve the planning, design and management of urban and rural landscape.
As part of their ongoing support to the landscaping profession, the organisation accredits university courses and promotes professional development. The Landscape Institute are passionate about making sure landscape architects are equipped to deliver the highest standards of practice.
Landscape Institute Award’s Goals
The Landscape Institute Awards set out to achieve the following:-
This year, the event will be hosted by Peabody Awards winning Broadcaster and revitalisation strategy consultant, Majora Carter. She will be announcing the shortlisted winners, drawn from entries received from all corners of the UK and overseas. Projects entered for the Awards need to have been completed during the 10 year period to the end of June 2014, in order to be eligible for submission.
The Landscape Institute Award entries will cover a range of categories, including small and large scale public and private projects such as Heritage & Conservation, and Strategic Landscape Planning.
