September certainly is a busy month for landscaping shows and events. Kicking off the beginning of the month is of course, the RHS Wisley Flower Show, which takes places from 8-13th September. Also taking place this month, are the popular GLEE Birmingham show and Landscape Show 2015.
Perennial, the UK’s charity for horticulturists also have a busy month ahead as they hold their annual fundraising appeal, Go Green for HortAid from 1-14th September. In this week’s news round-up, we give you an insight into the events you should look out for in September.
RHS Wisley Flower Show, 8-13th September
This hugely popular event for gardening fanatics gives visitors the opportunity to browse plants from specialist nurseries, including those from RHS Hampton Court Palace and Chelsea Flower Show medal winners.
Special guests include Mary Berry, celebrity chef and RHS Ambassador, who will open the show. There will also be special talks scheduled to take place in the Expert Zone to give visitors the chance to learn from experts.
GLEE Birmingham, 14-16th September
GLEE Birmingham features over 500 leading wholesale garden suppliers from around the world, showcasing thousands of impressive new products from different ranges.
Created especially for companies in the landscaping industry, this show provides the perfect opportunity to get advice on growing your business despite difficult trading conditions.
Perennial’s Go Green for HortAid, 1-14th September
Perennial, the UK charity dedicated to the wellbeing of horticulturists, has already raised thousands of pounds this year through various organised events. The Go Green fortnight which has already begun, will encourage people across the industry to raise funds for the charity in fun and challenging ways.
The Go Green for HortAid campaign in 2014 saw people take part in a range of activities to raise over £10,500 in total. A Kickathon challenge, for example, was organised at SALTEX 2014, and the garden team from Hever Castle dressed up as gnomes for the day to raise money.
