The New Year has plenty to offer the landscaping and horticulture industries, including prestigious events, exhibitions and award shows. For one organisation however, the excitement is about to start very soon with their first event of the year due to take place on Thursday 15th January.
The organisation in question is Perennial, the UK’s leading charity for people working in horticulture. Perennial will be hosting a fundraising dinner called the ‘Party for Perennial’ later this month to give horticulturists an opportunity to get together with colleagues and friends and help fund raise for the charity.
The Party for Perennial will be reviving one of the earliest traditions of the Gardener’s Royal Benevolent Society and the date was chosen to let guests gather together during one of the quieter months of the year.
The fundraising event will be held at the Roof Gardens in Kensington, London. According to the Director of Marketing and Development at Perennial, Anita Bates, The Roof Gardens have in fact been very supportive of the charity over the past 12 months. This 2015 event taking place in Perennial’s 176th anniversary year is also anticipated to be even bigger than last year’s as they plan to revive their usual set-up for the fundraising dinner.
This year Perennial hopes to raise over £10,000 at the January event, boosting funds early to support UK horticulturists and their families seeking help from the charity. The money raised by the event will help the charity fulfil their offerings of advisory and financial help, and support for people with mental health issues, relationship breakdowns, illness, injury, and bereavement.
What to Expect
The Party for Perennial will feature live music, excellent food and drink, and a range of quality entertainment from special guests. Simon Bates and Harry the Piano will be returning to perform on the night, showcasing their brand of live music. Fay Presto, one of Britain’s best magicians will also be performing at the event.
The Party for Perennial starts at 7.30pm and guests will be treated to a complimentary glass of champagne on arrival. Tickets are priced at £45 each with additional offers available when making a group booking. To find out more about the event and getting your ticket, visit the official website.
