Perennial is the number one charity in the UK dedicated to helping horticulturists in crisis. The charity is now encouraging the industry to raise funds for its 175th anniversary appeal by 'going green’, as part of its campaign, HortAid 2014.
Anyone involved in gardening and horticulture is encouraged to participate and help support Perennial in their efforts. HortAid2014, taking place between 1-14th September has already begun to see some great fundraising events, all in aid of reaching their target of £175,000 this year.
Events so Far
The ‘Go Green’ theme has given individuals the opportunity to take part in events such as sponsored cycle rides and coastal treks. You may have even seen Perennial at the SALTEX show this month, promoting HortAid 2014 with a ‘Kickathon’ fundraising challenge.
On 10th September, there was also a special event at Windsor Castle to raise funds for the charity. On the same day, Moss Wood Garden in Cheshire hosted a ‘Feng Shui in your garden’ event and collected donations for the cause.
Still a Chance!
If you haven’t been able to attend any events which have happened so far, there is still a chance to join in! Perennial will be the Show Charity at the Harrogate Autumn Show this weekend, from 12-14th September.
How to Get Involved
There are plenty of opportunities still to get involved in and raise money for HortAid 2014. If you want to help do your bit to help colleagues in the industry, Perennial is encouraging people to ‘Go Green’ and visit their website for more ideas and information.
You can also find out how to submit your event by visiting the website or calling them on 0800 093 8510.
