Are you attending SALTEX 2014?

Update, Tuesday 14th October 2014:

So what exactly did happen at SALTEX 2014?

According to October's issue of Landscape and Amenity magazine, SALTEX attracted around 240 exhibitors and more than 7,500 visitors to the Windsor venue this year. It was of course, the final year for the event to be held in Windsor as SALTEX prepares to move to the Birmingham NEC next year.

Many brands and suppliers enjoyed great success at the event, being given the opportunity to showcase their products while receiving plenty of enquiries from potential customers.

The landscaping industry is now looking forward to next year and hoping for even greater success at SALTEX 2015.

This month Pro Landscaper Magazine online reports on the upcoming move of SALTEX 2015. The UK’s national event for grounds care, sports turf, amenities, estates and green space management will be relocating to the NEC Birmingham on the 4th and 5th of November 2015. This will also mark the 70th anniversary of the show.

The idea behind the new venue is to attract a wider range of exhibitors from amenity suppliers and specialist machinery manufacturers to turfcare. With the highly anticipated SALTEX 2014 still yet to arrive at Windsor Racecourse, it may however feel a little early to start thinking about next year’s event.

So what can we expect from SALTEX 2014?

SALTEX 2014 is due to run from 2nd-4th September and is free of charge to visitors. Designers, managers and people who install or maintain outdoor spaces will get first hand access to the latest kit, including Landscaping Materials, Seeds, Turf, Aggregates and Treatments, and Machinery, Power and Hand Tools. There is also the opportunity to gain Education, Training and Development, as well as get free expert advice.

Over 200 SALTEX exhibitors will bring the latest equipment, products and valuable expertise to the event. Live demonstrations done outside by exhibitors will certainly be a highlight of the event as visitors will be able to see what materials and equipment are new to the market in one convenient location. Each year, it is estimated that almost 10,000 visitors attend SALTEX and the individuals can be anyone from greenkeepers and groundsmen to park and leisure amenity officers and estate managers.

Presentations, seminars and training courses are also available at SALTEX and are designed to offer visitors an insight into the issues affecting groundstaff on a regular basis.

Seminars and Training

On the first day of the event, there will be seminars and workshops discussing topics such as outdoor fitness equipment safety standards, tree planting and establishment, and the state and future of UK parks. On Wednesday 3rd September, discussions will then move on to the effects of the Wimbledon tennis tournament on the Wimbledon Park Golf Club, and the use of social media in sportsturf. On the final day of SALTEX 2014, you can expect a discussion on spraying efficacy and efficiency and it will be possible to catch up with any seminars that were missed on the first and second days.

If you are planning to attend SALTEX 2014, let us know! We would love to hear what you are most looking forward to seeing from the event.
