2014 saw a lot of exciting events and milestones for AVS Fencing Supplies, including our first ever Christmas Charity Ball!
It took place mid December at the grand Selsdon Park Hotel in Surrey, with all guests dressed up to the nines and full of Christmas cheer.
Suppliers, customers and AVS staff all got together to rais money for our two appointed charities, MacMillan Cancer Support and the Rockinghorse Children's Charity in Brighton. An amazing £8,000 was raised through raffles, auctions and ticket sales, which was a fantastic achievement so close to Christmas.
MacMillan Cancer Support
MacMillan is a charity that supports people living with cancer, as well as their families. They are there for financial advice, education for prevention or just a friendly and supportive voice on the end of the phone. With more than 200 different types of cancers and an estimated 1 in 3 people being expected to get the diagnosis at some point in their life, the work of MacMillan is just as important as ever.
Rockinghorse Children's Charity
Rockinghorse has been around for an amazing 45 years, raising money for the care of sick children in the Brighton area. Much of their work has centred around the Royal Alexandra Children's Hospital where they have raised money for lifesaving equipment for babies and children, respite care for families and ensuring a hospital stay can also be a friendly and comfortable one.
£8,000 for Charity
We are genuinely so grateful to everyone who attended the AVS Christmas Charity Ball and those who donated money to the causes. We're so pleased to be able to present each charity with £4,000.
For those of you who couldn't attend, here are just a few pictures of the festivities...

We finally got the chance to hand over the donations to both charities this month. Thanks again to our customers, suppliers and staff for generously donating money and making our first ever Christmas Charity Ball a huge success. Roll on December 2015!
