Today the entire admin office of AVS put down our fence posts for an hour to take part in the MacMillan Coffee Morning. And once we knew cake was involved, we didn't take much persuading!
Organised by Helen from the Accounts Team, several of our staff members took to their kitchens to join in the fun, all for a good cause. We made a selection of delicious cakes, pastries, flapjacks and tray bakes, all to sell to the team and surrounding companies. And local business JoJo's Cafe donated a large cake for us all to enjoy.
We also held the exciting ‘Guess How Many Coffee Beans are in the Jar' contest, which was more difficult than you might think!
About the Event
The MacMillan Coffee Morning is a nationwide event held once a year by the charity to raise much needed funds. Their essential work involves supporting people affected by cancer, including the friends and family of those with the disease.
This is a charity close to our hearts as AVS recently lost a much loved colleague and friend, Roberta. The coffee morning was held in her memory and we know for a fact that she would have enjoyed the event immensely.
So far our cake baking (and eating) efforts have raised over £330 for MacMillan Cancer Support! Thank you to all who took part. If you would like to donate to the charity or find out how you can get involved, check out the MacMillan website for more information.
Well done to the Ladies xx
